Presentation Success! I think.
On Sunday, June 3, 2018, a whole bunch of people filled the Nourse Theater in San Francisco to hear a handful of artists talk about the art they want to bring to Burning Man this year. I was one of the them and it still blows my mind!
My project manager, Tom Lee, was also my handler so it was nice to see a familiar face and have a soothing, British voice to keep me focused. The ever-awesome Katie Hazard and Jeremy Crandall were the MCs and also kept everything in order. The crew kicked ass, made the place look amazing and run smoothly. I survived the tech run-through.
There were mocktails and super yummy food on hand for the 6-7pm slot before we started our presentations. We were all out by our posters to talk about our projects and answer any questions. Lots of stickers were traded. Met so many awesome people!
Then came the presentation. I was sooooo nervous!!! But you know what?! I know what the hell I'm talking about, had notes and set up my timer on my phone and just went for it. I couldn't see anyone so I think that helped.
I bare remember any of those 5 minutes. I remember hearing laughter, using the laser pointer, being in awe of how big the slides were and hearing the audience groan when I said I might have to hand-cut all of my bench pieces. :)
Then I walked off the stage with out most of my notes and with the clicker in hand! DOH!
Luckily, the next presenter said it helped relieve his tension with a little humor.
I watched the rest of the first half of the event back stage and the second half in the audience. It was incredible. I'm so excited to be part of it all!!
We went out to Smuggler's Cove for a couple tiki drinks to celebrate!
I didn't pass out, I didn't cry and I didn't puke!
Wish I could remember more but they recorded it and will have it on their YouTube channel.
